Thursday after work I had the 1st show with my new electric band at the Mutiny, opening for dadad & mermaids - mermaids, who are hart, mike forbes, andrew & others from the mopery ! the set got off to a rocky start when i forgot to bring the bass and bass amp for my bass player so i had to scrum home & rush back ! Anyway, having all those mopery noise heavies got me really inspired -  i think even though the new group was pretty loose (we’d only rehearsed once so far, over a week ago) we really played an inspired, wild set. dadad had a new song and it was great, i unfortunately had to leave before mermaids as it was already after midnight & i had to open the cafe the next day. turns out my back pack was stolen out of my car, containing my 2010 road atlas, some mix cds made by anna, and about 20 CDs each of Genius School Menagerie & Jesse Thomas solo cds… no time to worry about that… got out of work at noon on Friday, picked up the Genius School trailer & dropped it off at like Harlem & Irving Park, pulled the plates & hopefully thats the end of it, rushed home, packed up the car, then to downtown to grab lady feedbacula & promptly immerse ourselves in downtown traffic quagmires … we made it to about downers grove and ate sandwiches, then hauled ass the rest of the way to Mixtapes! the show was GREAT! love playing there. Helen Money was the big name, she didn’t stay for feedbacula but it turns out we both work (or in her case, worked) at the same cafe. small world after all. heat made it out to see us, and expressed excitement about ONOs upcoming performance next weekend.
